Ursa Major needed an industry-leading Brand and Website to pair with their Series A funding announcement.
HOO KOO E KOO created an iconic brand system that turned heads on the announcement of an investment raise. HOO KOO E KOO crafted an immersive website that told a new story for the space and hypersonic engine manufacturer.
Project Goals
HKEK was tasked to unify the fragmented Ursa Major brand and create a system that would serve the Master Brand and the Sub Brands of the engines for years to come.
Brand Identity
HOO KOO E KOO immersed itself in the Aerospace and Hypersonic industry to identify a brand position that was going to differentiate Ursa Major and pave the way to success.
The Brand Strategy underpinned a very bold Visual Identity system that is striking, capturing the essence of the Brand, Product, and Ursa Major Team. HOO KOO E KOO used inspiration from ascension, propulsion, the stars, and alien-type pattern to forge the wordmark.
Digital Brand Experience
HOO KOO E KOO integrated brand messaging, with video, photography, illustration, and motion design to introduce the updated brand and product offering.
Small animated moments were brought in to reference space culture and retro touches to enrich the brand experience.
HOO KOO E KOO creative directed all of the photography across the site, from the team members to the product renders. Showing the team in action was core to our strategy of representing a team in action and producing best-in-class engines.
Building an Employer Brand
One of the key considerations for the Brand strategy and Website was to ensure Ursa Major expressed the exciting, dynamic, and successful working environment it provides its employees.
To enrich the onboarding experience for new employees HOO KOO E KOO created an avatar engine dubbed the “Ursie Maker”. This allowed new employees to express who they are personally through the lens of the Ursa Major brand. There are thousands of fun combinations to be made.
We satisfied this very unique request from Ursa Major team with pleasure. At HOO KOO E KOO we love embedding unique details, character and an element of fun in our partner’s projects.
Results
The website design and UM branding have played a significant part in our ability to attract talent. Combined with our other outward communication efforts, HKEK’s professional website design and their assistance in helping us translate our unique culture into digital form has played a large part in conveying outwardly what we experience every day at Ursa Major. Our culture is the only thing we take more pride in than our engines, and it was important for us to project that well. HKEK’s really helped us make that desire a reality.
